This Festive Drink – How to Make It
WThis is a simplified take on a beverage from the seasonal cocktail list. This is a batch pre-mixed that is bursting with essence associated with festive period, which makes it ideal for hosting a celebration. Save the extra syrup to use in breakfast cocktails, puddings, or to mix additional servings of the drink.

Ingredients for the Citrus Syrup (yields 750ml)
300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar
Ingredients for the Premix (yields 850ml, to serve 10)
400ml good quality vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml citrus syrup (as made above)
Fresh cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, to finish
Method
To prepare the Cordial: Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan, heat until it reaches a simmer, agitating to dissolve. After that, take off the burner allowing it to cool completely. Transfer to a sealable bottle, cap it and refrigerate it in the refrigerator, it will last for about four weeks.
For the Batch Mix: Pour the specified liquid ingredients in a sizeable container, allow it to infuse for one hour, then strain preferably using cheesecloth, making it perfectly clear.
For serving: Pour 85ml of the premix into a stirring glass containing ice, gently stirring gently for one minute to chill. Filter to a frosted cocktail glass or equivalent, decorate with the cranberries adding the final touch with a light spray of mandarin oil above the glass.
